Jonathan is an international consultant specialising in Policing, Governance and Access to Justice. He has over 30 years operational policing and military experience at a senior level, predominantly in Northern Ireland. He has worked in the Middle East since 2004 when he was seconded to the team of the EU Special Representative to the Middle East Peace Process as Security and Police Adviser. Responsible for guiding the formation of the EU’s policing mission in the Palestinian Territories (EUPOL COPPS), he served as its first Head of Mission in 2005 and 2006.Based in Beirut from 2007, he continues to direct the British Policing Support Project with the Lebanese Internal Security Forces and a Security Sector Project in Jordan. He has also been involved in policing and security in Yemen, providing assistance to the Restructuring Committee of the Ministry of Interior and to the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referenda (SCER) in the area of Election Security. He was appointed an MBE in 2015 for "Services to stability in the Middle East".
