Siren has recently embarked on a joint venture with CME to create Siren Analytics, a leading multinational technology firm that offers end-to-end engineering services across different industries. Together, we’re disrupting the normal order of things.
Recognising the potential for data analytics and digitisation to transform the nature of public sector change management, we teamed up in 2020. This merger is emblematic of the type of change we are seeking to engender in Lebanon itself, leveraging private sector R&D innovation to achieve long-term societal goals.
Based out of Beirut, we see the wealth of technology expertise in Lebanon not just as an economic competitive advantage, but as a public good that can be engaged in meaningful missions and contribute to improved prosperity in the country.
Today more than ever, we believe that we need to move beyond the politics of conflict and start implementing forward-thinking and collaborative solutions that begin to rebuild trust between citizens and state institutions. One of these proposed solutions is Impact.
Impact is the first e-governance platform in Lebanon. It uses path-breaking technologies from the private sector to drive outcomes in public service and, ultimately, changes in behaviour.
Adopting an agile project management approach, we’ve focused on iterative, bottom-up solutions that engage both citizens and civil servants in the solution design, rather than imposing it on them. In doing so, we’ve targeted three key root causes of Lebanon’s current malaise: governance and accountability, efficient and coordinated resources use, and decentralisation and localized response.
Impact was initially developed to support the nationwide response planning to the covid-19 crisis by facilitating the monitoring of the needs, decisions and incidents related to the pandemic. Today, it addresses a much wider range of government data, catering to stakeholders from across the different levels of the national public administration and putting freely accessible information and relevant datasets at the citizens’ fingertips in an effort to promote transparency and drive policy making.
